Laker

The Laker ice rod is a 48" heavy weight fiberglass spinning rod designed for big predatory fish. The inspiration for this rod came from the demand from anglers who have a passion for chasing world class Lake Trout on Flaming Gorge Reservoir where fish can be in excess of 50 pounds.

We built the Laker casting rod with a spiral guide wrap because this method will significantly reduce torque to the reel seat when loaded. Spinning rods have the benefit of bottom-loading the guides. Baitcasting reels have the benefit of increased line pick-up and elimination of line twist. This combines the benefits of both. 

This rod has a moderate action with enough strength to handle large baits while maintaining excellent play in the rod to handle the large head shakes that Trophy Lake trout are notorious for. The rod tip is tapered for sensitivity in detecting soft bites.
